Kailey Portsmouth was born in Seattle, Washington. Aside from the brief period in second grade when she wanted to be a geologist, Kailey always knew she wanted to become an actress. In 2007, she graduated with honors from Bishop Blanchet High School with letters in both academics and theatre. She was also the student head of the Costume Department as well as a senior editor of the school literary magazine, “Voices,¯ where several of her poems were published. She also became a member of the Thespian Society. In the fall of 2007, Kailey enrolled at Carroll College, a private liberal arts college in Helena, Montana. While at Carroll, she acted in 16 productions. Kailey played a wide variety of great roles: most notably, Milady de Winter in Three Musketeers, Catherine Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights, and Ophelia in Hamlet. She also played Lina Lamont in the local Grandstreet Theaters production of Singing in the Rain. Kailey also began directing while at Carroll. Her senior thesis project was directing Bram Stokers Dracula in the fall of 2010. Kailey recieved the Dorthoy Harper Award and Scholarship of Excellence, the highest award given to for Performing Arts at Carroll, in 2010. While in Helena, she also acted in several local films for the colleges film festival and for other independant filmmakers, which included the role of Poision Ivy in Batman: Last Man Laughing. Kailey won Best Actress at the Charlies Film Festival Awards in both 2009 and 2010. Kailey also landed a few radio advertisements, including the voice of Andrea Borland in a radio play of Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause.. In 2010, Kailey earned her Personal Training Certification through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). She graduted from Carroll College with distinction in May 2011 with a BA in Performing Arts with emphasis in both Acting/Directing and Technical Design. In Feburary 2011, Kailey played the lead female role in an Interwoven Studios feature film called Crimson Winter, which is set to be released in 2012. Crimson Winter is a thrilling, emotional drama about a group of researches who cross paths with a group of exiled Vampires led by a prince who is raising an army to overthrow his family. Crimson Winter is a film that addresses the themes of love, loss, revenge, deception, destiny, and the human condition. In June of 2011, Kailey read the lead female character in the audiobook of author Stephen Mitchell latest book A Cure to Die For, which is being realeased in August 2011. Kailey moved to Los Angeles in early September 2011 to further pursue her acting career. Kailey also enjoys reading, writing, fitness, exploring, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
