Disney+ Unveils ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Sequel, ‘Muppets’ Short-Form, Confirms ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ With Ewan McGregor, More At D23 – Update

Updated: Disney+ unveiled a slew of new content and talent at the D23 Expo Friday, including a Lizzie McGuire sequel with original series star Hilary Duff, a Muppets short-form series, along with three new Marvel projects in development, live-action series Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight, all derived from the Marvel comics.

Disney+ confirmed an Obi-Wan series is coming to the streaming service with Ewan McGregor, who made an appearance at D23, reprising his title role. Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy revealed “We have all the scripts written, and we’re ready to go next year.”

The Muppets short-form “unscripted” series featuring the beloved characters titled Muppets Now, is set for premiere in 2020. Like the classic The Muppet Show, Muppets Now will feature a celebrity guest in each episode.
