Live-Action 'Lady and the Tramp' Brings Back 'Bella Notte' in Trailer for Disney+ Movie (Video) - thewrap

It’s a Bella Notte at D23 this weekend, where Disney has dropped the first trailer for the live-action “Lady and the Tramp” remake.

The feature film has some CGI in the vein of “The Lion King,” but those are real dogs acting as both Lady and the Tramp, and yes, they do eat spaghetti. While the famous kiss wasn’t shown in the trailer, which you can watch below, we do see the Lady’s life from puppyhood before she leaves her home to explore the bigger world beyond her comfortable home.

Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux provide the voices of Lady and the Tramp in the classic Disney love story, and they’re joined by Janelle Monáe, Sam Elliott, Ashley Jensen and Benedict Wong as the voices of some of the other animal characters in the remake of the cartoon. And the film’s human cast features Kiersey Clemons, Yvette Nicole Brown and Thomas Mann.

The original “Lady and the Tramp” from 1955 followed an upscale Cocker Spaniel whose spoiled life is up-ended when her owners have a baby. Finding herself out on the streets, she is saved by a scraggly stray who shows her how to not only survive but thrive on the streets.

Charlie Bean is directing the live-action remake from a script by Andrew Bujalski, and the new “Lady and the Tramp” is produced by Brigham Taylor, who co-produced the 2016 “Jungle Book” remake for Disney with director Jon Favreau.

This would be the fourth live-action Disney film this year following the success of “Dumbo,” “Aladdin” and “The Lion King,” the last two of which both managed to cross $1 billion at the global box office. “Lady and the Tramp” however is an exclusive for Disney+, the Mouse House’s new streaming platform that’s launching on Nov. 12. This film, along with several other shows and original films all being unveiled this weekend, will be available on Disney+ at launch.
