Summary
The survivors of a plane crash are stranded in a mysterious, remote tropical island in the South Pacific. Among the survivors there is Jack, a doctor, Charlie, a rock star, Sayid, an Iraqi military man, Locke, a mysterious man who used to be paralyzed before the crash but is miraculously cured after the crash and Sawyer, a con man. The series alternates present events with flashbacks of the background stories of the characters.
Here we are in the last episode of season 4. A mysterious and shady rescue team that has other plans besides saving the survivors of the crash are on the island. Some people want to be rescued and leave the island, among which there is Jack, and some don't trust the rescue team and decide to stay there. John Locke is one of them.
In this scene John Locke confronts Jack and tries to convince him to stay. It's more than an island, he tells him, "it's a place where miracles happen...." and if he leaves he will regret it for the rest of his life.

| EXT. ORCHARD GREENHOUSE-DAY JACK: "What did you want to talk to me about, John?" LOCKE: "I want you to...reconsider leaving the island, Jack. I would like you to stay." JACK: "You would like me to stay." LOCKE: "Yeah. That's right." JACK: "You threw a knife into the back of an unharmed woman. You led half of our people across the island and got most of them killed..." LOCKE: "Well, Jack, you put a gun to my head and you pulled the trigger....(Pause) I was hoping we could let bygone be bygone." JACK: "I'll tell you what. You stay here in your little greenhouse when the rest of us are going home." Jack starts to leave. LOCKE: "But you are not supposed to go home." JACK: "THEN WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!?!...I think I remember. What is that you said on the way out to the hatch..that...crashing here was out destiny." LOCKE: "You know Jack. You know that you are here for a reason. You know it. And if you leave, this place...that knowledge is going to eat you alive...from the inside out." ...continued.... |
