Summary
Pretty office worker Marion Crane (Janet Leigh), fed up with life, steals 40 grand from his employer's client and leaves town. She ends up in a seedy motel in the middle of nowhere run by a lonely middle aged man, Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins), who still leaves with his mother in the house on the top of the hill overlooking the motel. Norman's mother kills Marion out of jealousy and Norman hides the body. When a PI reaches the motel asking questions about Marion, he ends up in the same way.
Eventually Marion's sister and lover discover the truth, Marion was killed by Norman Bates who for years has had a split personality, leading him to impersonate his own mother.
In this monologue, at the end of the movie, a psychiatrist explains to Marion's sister, her lover and the police what exactly is going on in Norman's head...
The monologue is interrupted as he is asked questions but the whole scene can be worked out as a continuous monologue.
