Description:
History Alive! proudly announces auditions for the 20th October season of Cry Innocent: The People vs. Bridget Bishop!
WHEN: Saturday, September 10, 2011 between 10AM-12PM. Ensemble-oriented callbacks will immediately follow if necessary.
WHERE: The Old Town Hall, 32 Derby Square, Salem, MA 01970. A ten minute walk from the Salem T station.
ABOUT: Set in Salem, 1692, Cry Innocent is a highly interactive theatrical recreation of the pre-trial examination of accused witch Bridget Bishop. The audience, serving as the jury, are given opportunities to question the witnesses and examine the evidence while the actors respond in character. Involving actor doubling and a rotating cast, no two shows are exactly the same!
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Solid, personable actors of both genders who are willing to take risks, play well with others, and thrive on the unexpected!
HOW TO PREPARE: Please come ready with a brief, non-contemporary monologue of your choosing (no memorization required), and wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving about in. You may be asked to do some cold readings from the script and participate in improvisational activities. There is a strong chance that you will have fun.
WHAT TO BRING: A photograph of yourself and a list of potential conflicts in September and October.
TRAINING, PAY, SCHEDULING: Positions are paid hourly. Rehearsal is paid by stipend. Rehearsals begin in September, with performances throughout October.
