Description:
One house in St Kilda. Six new Housemates and all except one have known each other for years. Some are escaping their pushy parents, others have pushed theirs over the edge, while others have been roaming for a while now and just need a place to call home. A coming-of-age story about yearning for freedom and what we do when we finally get it.
Their inner voice is heard through an amalgam of musical of pastiched contemporary music, from hip-hop, folk and pop to classic Broadway and jazz. With an original score by Belinda Jenkin and William Hannagan, these styles, so different on the surface, compliment each character as well as creating a unique musical idiom that is at once modern and theatrical.
This is a new musical, developed by Apollo productions in conjunction with TheatreWorks.
Auditions will be held at the space in prahran Saturday September 3rd.
