Variasi Performing Arts is currently embarking on a new project entitled Naomi-Bila Bebas Tanpa Sempadan, a Malay theater production based on the life of a breast cancer patient. The objective of our play is to reach out and spread awaressness of breast cancer to the Malay female community in Singapore. The play would be scheduled in July 16, 2011 at The Substation.

Synopsis
Alluring and sophisticated Naomi has always been a career minded woman. As a successful business director, her life is constantly filled with deadlines, conferences and sales targets. Not one to lose out in the rat race, Naomi demonstrates a competitive winning edge by leading her company with powerful work ethics. In her male dominated industry, Naomi ruled with an iron hand and mind. Relationships with staff and clients are maintained strictly professional, with business and pleasure neatly balanced on her plate. To Naomi, work is her passion. And passion is her life.

Blessed with a caring husband and a beautiful son, Naomi couldn’t have asked for a more appreciative family. However due to her overwhelming work schedule, quality family moments slowly faded. Duties of what used to be a loving wife and mother were replaced with meetings and presentations. As time passes by, the strive for success began to blind Naomi. Adapting to the new Naomi has put a constant strain to her family and friends. Success had taught Naomi to ignore risks and consequences, with just one goal in mind: to win.

The glory of divine intervention is never one without it’s reasons. At the height of her career, Naomi saw her world suddenly collapse after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Goals and ambitions vanished with every single hope she hung upon before and what was once a dream is now a nightmare. Defenseless and left to face the unknown, Naomi began to walk on the road less travelled to pick up the remaining pieces of her life. Drowned in self doubt and dilemma, Naomi realized how small and fragile her life has been all this while.

Recalling a time how her best friend lost a battle with cancer years before, Naomi knew she had to fight. Reflections upon reflections opened up Naomi’s mind, body and soul to a broader perspective to life. This time it would no longer be a fight for a promotion but to stay alive, To stay true to oneself, to being appreciative and grateful. Deep in her heart Naomi knew there was blessing in disguise sealed beneath her illness. And beneath that blessing, a new life awaits her


Urgently looking for actors to be part of our next theater production,NAOMI-Bila Bebas Tanpa Sempadan (Freedom without Boundaries) held on 16 July 2011 at Substation, BlackBox.

Criteria
MALAY SINGAPOREAN
18 & above
Self driven,Committed & Passionate
Able to commit 2-3 times a week
Basic experience/knowledge in theater/arts preferably
