Description:
We are seeking an older hispanic man (aged 55 to 80) for the co-starring role in our short film, Abuelo. No prior acting experience is required. Abuelo follows a young boy with high functioning autism who wanders into a migrant workers camp in search of an old man, the Abuelo. Abuelo is written by local film and theater veteran, Stephen Metcalfe, and will be directed by award winning SDSU grad student, Stephen Crutchfield.
The right candidate will:
Be age 55 - 80
Speak Spanish foremost
Speak and understand English (heavy accent ok)
Have a warm personality (preferred, but not required)
Love to tell stories/entertain young children (preferred, but not required)
Look worn and weathered (as if they have been working in the migrant fields all their lives) - (preferred, but not required)
Be available on weekends and some weekdays during the first three weeks of April (total of 4 shooting days).

Be able to take direction
Be able to ride a bike
Be available on weekends and some weekdays during the first three weeks of April (total of 6 shooting days)
Have a parent on set at all times (days will be up to eight hours with a lot of stop and go)
Auditions will be held:
SDSU
Saturday, February 12th
10am to 1pm
