The School of Trauma announce auditions for Rachel F. Presents, a group of short plays to be presented in an unique repertory format. They include:
Jesus Loves Bunnies
The Ryan SeaQuest Adventure
The, Oh My God, It’s So The True Story of Halle Berry Halybery
Seeking individuals representing a variety of performance and design backgrounds, life experiences and cultural identities. Ideal candidates will:
- be Brooklyn-based or live close by
- have acting and improv experience
- possess a distinct comedic personality and style
- be fearless
- enjoy dance and movement
- be a true collaborator
- be able to participate as performer and designer
UPCOMING GROUP AUDITIONS
Group auditions for Rachel F. Presents will held on:
Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
South Oxford Space , Studio B, located in Fort Greene
138 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217
The group audition will include some combination of the following:
- cold reading from script
- improvisation
- learn a dance/movement combination
- share any other special talent you might have
Some additional suggestions and information:
- just be yourself
- bring headshot if you have one (but not required)
- bring a design portfolio and/or example of your work
- wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can dance/move in
- some or all of the audition may be video recorded
- a digital photograph may be taken of you

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is there any compensation and is this an equity show? Yes, there will be a honorary stipend offered as part of the performing phase. At this time Rachael F. Presents is a non-equity production
When and where will rehearsals be held? They will be held mid-Februray through the whole of March. In general will be week day evenings and at least one day each weekend at a venue(s) in Brooklyn TBA.
What about the performances? Rachael F. Presents is scheduled to open the first week of April at a venue (TBA) in Midtown Manhattan. This will be a late night presentation, possibly a 9:00 or 9:30pm time slot.
ABOUT RACHAEL F.
Rachael F. is a playwright and performer from Seattle, Washington. The themes of her work consistently play with happenstance, Black Americana, pop trivia and spectacle. Her last production, a short play about a quirky muse and her even quirkier family, was part of The CD Forum for Arts and Ideas Creation Project and Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival 2008 lineup. Rachael F’s next venture is B. McQueen, a radio play loosely based off of the actress Butterfly McQueen who played Gone with the Wind’s high pitched maid, Prissy.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF TRAUMA
The School of Trauma is an artists “eclective” based out of Seattle, Washington (yes, a long way from Brooklyn, NY). The ecletive is made up of artists representing a variety of artistic mediums and has a simple mandate - be creative.
