A young boy lives in an ephemeral fantasy in his struggle to escape the cycle of paternal abuse.

Boy is the victim of paternal abuse, and looks to his mother for the comfort and care lacking from his relationship with his father, whom he fears. He hides from the reality of his circumstance deep within his imagination.|

He represents the cycle of abuse, expressed through the inconsistency of human behavior. He loves his son and wants him to be strong, but abuses Boy when he fails Father’s tests.|
