Synopsis:
A young boy lives in an ephemeral fantasy in his struggle to escape the cycle of paternal abuse.
Breakdown:
Role Name | Gender | Ethnicity | Age Range | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Boy | Male | Any Ethnicity | 6-10 | Male lead. Ages 7-13. Brown hair, blue eyes, average size. His eyes penetrate with the observation of a boy much older. Boy is the victim of paternal abuse, and looks to his mother for the comfort and care lacking from his relationship with his father, whom he fears. He hides from the reality of his circumstance deep within his imagination. |
Father | Male | Any Ethnicity | 41-50 | Male lead, 40s-50s, fitness of an ex-military man. Intelligent, serious, and independent to a fault. He represents the cycle of abuse, expressed through the inconsistency of human behavior. He loves his son and wants him to be strong, but abuses Boy when he fails Father’s tests. |
Mother | Female | Any Ethnicity | 31-40 | Female lead, late 20s-early 40s, tall, slender and angelic. She is the voice of tender affection for the Boy and represents his fate. Her death drives the decisions of the Boy to attempt escape and freedom from the Father. |
