Looking for cast for a short film for Tropfest entry.

KEYS TO YOUR HEART is a film about unspoken passion, desire, and the kind of forbidden glances that make you curious about those things in the world that you can never completely understand.   Mildred, a grungy, slick twenty something is caught inside a coma of stale love when she notices Jimmy playing his harmonica on the veranda across the street.  He is so gorgeous and uncommitted that it makes her hysterical, and she gets electric bad.  Rock and roll meets disco meets grunge, this is a film about a generation who can’t settle inside a world beset by fakery.  Where mystic, romance and living your life like there is no tomorrow are all more important than the stability of a nine to five lie.

The film is being co-directed by Sarah-Mace Dennis and Richard Bell, who both have plenty of experience in filmmaking. Richard, who is also DOP’ing, is an award winning cinematographer and Sarah is a cross disciplinary artist who is currently undertaking a practice-based PhD in film, media and theatre at UNSW
The producer of the film is Matt Grehan, who currently produces short films and music videos in the local Brisbane and Gold Coast film scene.


Auditions will be held on Tuesday 14th December at Visible Ink, 54 Berwick St, Fortitude Valley.
Then cast rehearsals will be on the 15th and 16th December at a location to be determined. These will take place in the evenings.

Shooting will take place over 2 days. Shoot Day 1 will be the 17th December and Shoot Day 2 will be the 19th December, in Brisbane.

Actors must be available for the shoot and rehearsal dates. This is a quick turnaround, but it needs to be to make the deadline for Tropfest, and to make sure everyone has Christmas without worrying about a shoot.
This is an unpaid role however, we will supply copies of the film to be used in portfolio’s/CV’s.
