Auditions for final year short film project by graduating film students from Singapore. (auditions and production will take place in Singapore)

SANZARU

Jim is brought up by his mother to believe in the principles of Sanzaru - a Japanese term which refers to the three wise monkeys that represent See no evil, Hear no evil and Speak no evil.

Strongly believing in the code of Sanzaru, Jim feels obligated to set things right with his own hands when he sees people violating the code and becomes a serial killer.

Jim
Chinese, 18 to 20s
He respects and loves his mother, strongly believing in her teachings of Sanzaru. A mommy's boy who tries to make the world better by killing people who do not follow the principles of Sanzaru.

Jim's mother
Chinese, late 30s to 40s
An overprotective mother who believes that everything she does is for the better of her son. Teaches him to follow the principles of Sanzaru, unaware that she has turned him into a serial killer.

Jim's father
Chinese, late 30s to 40s
A human trafficker who will trade his wife away for money. Bad-tempered and chauvinistic.

Rachel,
Chinese, 18 to 20s
Jim's love interest. Has a dark attraction towards blood beneath beneath her sweet and cheerful appearance.

(as this is a student production, low pay will be provided. meals will be provided)

Audition venue: The Substation, 45 Armenian Street (Classroom 2, Level 2)

Friday, 24 September - 2pm to 8pm
Saturday, 25 September - 11am to 8pm
Sunday, 26 September - 11am to 8pm
