About the film: In-World War, an indie sci-fi feature, tells the futuristic story of a debt-ridden and depressed beta tester trapped in a buggy virtual reality simulation of the "war on terror.”

About the filmmaker: Screenwriter/Director Brant Smith (aka DJ Bad Vegan) produced and co-wrote the story of the acclaimed narrative feature QUALITY OF LIFE (www.qualityoflife-themovie.com). The film premiered at the Berlin Int'l Film Festival where it won a coveted Special Mention jury award, before going on to a limited nationwide theatrical release and home video distribution. The film received strong reviews from the San Francisco Chronicle, New York Times, Village Voice and LA Weekly. Based on the experience making Quality of Life, he contributed to the film's DIY filmmaking manifesto (published by Soft Skull Press) and teaches a popular filmmaking class at UC Santa Cruz.

DOOR WOMAN (20-40's) - Strong, buff female bouncer in leather attire.
HASSAN (mid-50’s) - A portly Moroccan, Turkish, Syrian male.
AHMED (late 40’s) - Another thinner Moroccan, Turkish, Syrian male.
IMAM (50’s or older) - Traditional Imam ideally of Arabic background with accent.
MOSQUE REGULAR 1 (30-40’s) - Arabic male
MOSQUE REGULAR 2 (30-40’s) - Arabic male
STREET VENDORS (20-40's) - (Northern or Eastern) African male

Auditions:
No open auditions. Auditions will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 10am – 5pm at Columbia University. Contact to schedule a time.
