Description:
Director: Joe Ravat - Producer. Hi Everyone,
My name’s Joe Ravat and I am the producer in a new short film called checkmate.
Checkmate is about a regular guy who’s stuck between fantasy and reality in this new short film comedy by an upcoming British director (details withheld presently at directors request). You know when you plug your music in on the tube and you hone in to the “Zone” right up to the point where you close your eyes and let go of yourself into the music, only to realise moments later “hey everyone’s watching me?” yep that’s him ;)
Without a shadow of doubt this is a great opportunity for upcoming actors to get involved in something creative, fun and inspiring. This could be the stepping stone to life your career. I will say no more, but to say, those who do take the time to approach me, will be considered for the possible feature film to be cast soon ;)
Can everyone please email your headshots and CV’s to myself at joeravat@hotmail.com Please put in the heading what role you are applying for. Those who are shortlisted will be contacted in due course. All headshots and CV’s will be stored for guaranteed future productions. Presently this production is not being funded, but all involved will get a copy of the final film. This is not an amateur student film production etc.
Apply to: Joe Ravat, joeravat@hotmail.com
4 breakdowns:
1. Female / Any yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Gorgeous Girl, 18-30, any ethnicity. We need all actresses that consider themselves gorgeous to apply for this role. We need an actress that is willing to let go, be adventurous and have fun. She will be playing the fantasy girlfriend of the lead, Joe. There has to be a chemistry between them that should come across on-screen. She has about 3 scenes in the film.
2. Female / Any yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Joes Mother, Indian – Asian looking. 55+. We need someone to play our lead Joe’s mother. Her role is critical to the film. She needs to be loud, persistent (bit like a nagging mother trying to get her 30 year old son out of bed to get to work ;) and above all bring an energy about her. She needs to be able to speak Hindi or Urdu too.
3. Female / 61+ yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Old Lady, any ethnicity, 70+. We need someone that has the ability to look straight at our lead Joes face when he almost runs her over with his dingy bike and say “you should be ashamed of yourself etc” Two scenes for her.
4. Male / Any yrs. / Caucasian.
Security guard, 30 – 50, Caucasian. We need an actor to throw our lead Joe out of the Dole office when he gets too loud and rude for not leaving. One scene.
