Description:
Seeking: two men, 20s-30s, to perform at an event at Ursinus College on Monday, August 30th. Paid positions. There will be 2 performances on this date for an audience comprised of Ursinus’ entire incoming first-year class. Scenes from the ancient Sumerian epic, Gilgamesh, adapted and directed by theater professor Domenick Scudera, will be performed during a lecture to the students. Actors must be available on August 30th and must be able to attend at least 3 rehearsals prior to this date (rehearsals will be scheduled to fit actors’ schedules). Ursinus College is a small liberal arts college in Collegeville, PA, approximately 35 miles outside of Philadelphia. Rehearsals and performances will be at the college; actors must provide own transportation.
Casting:
• Gilgamesh: King of Uruk, powerful, arrogant, intimidating, physically strong, part-god
• Enkidu: wild, animal-like, strong, rival and match to Gilgamesh
