Description:
Production company Hello Camera are looking to cast performers for their forthcoming feature 'The Ballad of Des & Mo'. The romantic comedy follows an Irish couple who arrive in Melbourne for their second honeymoon, but their luggage doesn't arrive with them. The film is part of the unique 72 Hour Movie project, where a team of filmmakers will shoot, edit and screen a FEATURE-LENGTH movie in THREE DAYS as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival. The provisional dates for filming are as follows: shoot starts on August 4th and will be screened on the 7th. For this reason, only performers who are excited by the physical and mental challenge of working under pressure should apply. Whilst it is a difficult experience, it is hopefully a fun one also! Rehearsals will begin in Melbourne at the end of July, at a date arranged with the successful applicants.
Director James Fair is looking to cast:
MAL (mid 20’s M) is a male surfer by summer, hostel receptionist by winter. He is not the sharpest tool in the box, although he is a tool.
BAXTER (30ish M) is a pig-headed unfunny federal agent. He likes to think he is funny though.
MABERLY (30ish F) is a funny federal agent, although unintentionally so. A dry wit.
MIKE (40ish M) is an Oriental poker player, a little lonely perhaps, but quick to make friends.
SUSAN (50ish F) is a professional flight manager at the airport. One hard lady.
There are a variety of other parts for males and females aged 18-30, some with dialogue, some without. To be considered for one of these parts, please apply as SUPPORT. You will need to have good comic timing.
Please send a CV, headshot and covering letter expressing your interest in the role. Letters that indicate the applicant's ability to enjoy and perform under pressure will be looked upon favourably. The deadline for applications is Friday 14th 2010, and should be emailed directly to the director James Fair at james@hellocamera.ie
