Actors needed for 15-minute film ("One Chance") about a 16-year-old girl who throws a chair at a teacher and learns a lesson in respect as a result of the consequences she suffers. The film will be shot from July 26-July 30, 2010. Only actors with acting experience (theatre-- including school plays, TV, or film) are encouraged to audition.
Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 @ 6pm at Bonnie Johns located at 8437 Landover Road, Landover, MD 20785.
Actors should be prepared for a cold read and should bring a headshot or photo along with a resume. If interested, actors should e-mail the producers informing them of what role they want to audtion for at firstname.lastname@example.org. The audition roles are listed below. All of the characters are Black, unless stated otherwise.
Monica Lewis: A vibrant, Black 16-year-old girl with issues.
Mrs. Grant: Black, dedicated Teacher in her 40s.
Ronni: A 15-year-old girl. Loyal. Good head on her shoulders.
Sidjah: girl, 15, studious and nosey.
Avery: boy, 15, doesn't live up to his full potential.
Jake: boy, 16, quiet when he wants to be, loud the rest of the time, and smart, but doesn't take nonsense from anybody.
Dana: girl, 15, pretty and calm.
Montero: boy, (Black or Hispanic) 15, funny and good-natured.
Cory: girl, 15, opinionated.
Jarvis: boy, 16, charming, witty instigator-- always states the obvious that everyone else is afraid to see, which can come across as cruel.
Shanice Edwards: Black girl, 15, cute, looks like she can't fight.
Security Guard #1: Black, 30s.
Security Guard #2: Black, 30s.
Substitute Teacher: Black, Female, 25 or older
