She is living with other homeless teens in the Tenderloin neighborhood and has a small-time pimp who mostly leaves her alone. She and Perry strike up a fast friendship and more as the story progresses. This is how she is introduced in the script: As Perry backs away, she bumps into BEA (pronounced bay-ah), a striking girl, dressed in a stylish ragamuffin way, who speaks with a Haitian Creole accent. She has a close-cropped afro and possesses a natural elegance. She and Perry are of similar size and facial structure, though Bea is a little older than Perry.|
