PLOT SUMMARY:
Private Sky is a full-length feature film musical in the vain of Once and Across the Universe. It chronicles the true story of a New York transplant’s journey to find happiness and success despite mounting medical debt and a broken heart. (Concept recording available on iTunes.)

Theo – mid twenties - cute all-American Midwesterner, singer-song-writer tenor (low A - high A) who must move well and play basic guitar and piano. This character swings from sensitive vulnerability to resolute determinism while in the struggle to rebuild his life after the death of his mother (Sue) and loss of his true love (Red). He is chameleon like in personality; charismatic and likable, but his moody and brooding side lead to an alter ego (Dark Theo) that breaks his best friend’s heart (Sarah).

Red - early twenties - fiercely attractive, redhead, New York Russian Jew, moderate NY accent, strong dancer, has an edgy cool confidence. Red breaks Theo’s heart and remains his object of fantasy throughout the story.


Slade – late twenties/early thirties – Witty, dry sense of humor, he is Theo’s older brother. Average appearance and build, weathered for his age, receding hairline from the stress of being a surgery resident.

Rasco – youthful mid-thirties – high-strung Irishman go-getter who ends up working for Theo. Smaller build character who is charming and charismatic.
