Description:

Director: Carman Lashley. Country Preachers is a story taken from the book Psychoses of Love. The author, Carman Lashley is bringing her story to stage in October 2010. Country Preacher is about a hipocritical Baptist preacher whose rebellious daughter, Thelma is the spitting image of her father in more ways than one. The play features their story through drama, comedy and song and dance.

Carla -- Age 20 - 26. Sweet, angelic, lovely young lady who plays best friend to Preachers 20+ daughter, but also plays girlfriend to Preacher. Attractive woman, able to sing is a plus. No more than size 8. Lt Brown complexion

2. Female / 18-24 yrs. / African American.
Thelma -- Age 20 - 26. Daughter of preachers. Lt brown to medium complexion, Attractive, no more than size 8. Plays sassy rebellious daughter, but also plays conservative role at the end of play.

3. Female / 41-50 yrs. / African American.
Sheila Stevens -- Role of sophisticated, classy woman who was mistress of Preacher. Looks good for 40+ woman, polished woman. Medium Brown to Dark complexion. Very attractive.

4. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Black - Caribbean.
Lena Baine -- African American plump or semi plump woman who has Caribbean accent or Caribbean woman who plays waitress/palm reader residing in Bahamas.

5. Male / 25-30 yrs. / Mixed Race.
Chauncey ---Native American man or man passing for white/Native American man or Black mixed with race who can pass for Native American/White man (with long hair worn in ponytail but not necessary). Plays owner of construction company, so should be physically appealing with looks and muscular build. Plays very charming man who can draw in the hearts of women in the audience. Singing experience is a plus but not necessary.

6. Male / 41-50 yrs. / African American.
Rev. Tom Daniels -- Preacher role with strong, powerful voice to draw in audience. Charming,Distinguished, good looking. Nice build, but not too small. Light to medium brown complexion.

7. Male / 31-40 yrs. / Black - African.
Aubin -- Deacon in church, tall, slender man. Signing a plus.

8. Male / 41-50 yrs. / African American.
Zakaary -- Attorney to Preacher. Business man attitude, sharp distinguished guy.



Also looking for dancers to be Spirit dancers, preferably smaller frame ladies and a few guys. Looking for a minimum of four dancers and a maximum of six. Singing abilities a plus.
