Description:
Chicago Children's Theatre would like to invite Non-AEA performers to audition for our upcoming 2019-2020 season.
Our season will consist of different types of shows including a puppet show, a physical comedy, a conventional play, and a musical that will include some performers accompanying themselves with instruments.
We are seeking adult performers and young performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and physical abilities for our upcoming season.
Chicago Children's Theatre aspires to enrich our community through diverse and significant theatrical and educational programming that engages and inspires the child in all of us. We are dedicated to creating awe-inspiring theatrical productions and programs for our communities through inclusion and accessibility that inspire young people and families to lead lives of adventure, courage, and curiosity.
We are seeking adult performers and young performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and physical abilities for our upcoming season.
Material To Prepare:
Monologue (required)
Please prepare one monologue, not to exceed 2 minutes in length. Your monologue does not need to be from a children's show, but monologues with particularly adult themes will not be very helpful for us to see.
Song (not required)
If you are interested in being considered for musicals or shows with music, please prepare 32 bars or about 60 seconds of any song (musical theatre or non-musical theatre) - either a Capella or self-accompanied on piano or your own instrument (guitar, etc.). A keyboard will be available in the audition room for you to use.
Additional Material (not required)
If you would like to share another short piece or skill with us, that would be great. Some examples: a short moment of puppetry, physical performance, playing an instrument, poetry, or examples of something you teach as a teaching artist. This is not in any way necessary, but feel free to share with us if you would like.
