Description:
El Bear is holding auditions for it's upcoming Summer show Mr. Moral's Guide to Surviving Dark Times Without Losing It written by Rauly Luna, Becca Browne, and John Fisher. The show is composed of many vignettes so actors cast will be playing multiple characters in the show.
Synopsis:
The future is uncertain, bigotry runs rampant in the streets, and the president has no clue what he's doing, but not to worry, Mr. Moral and his co-host, La Muñequita, are here to help! White supremacists got ya down? See yourself as more of a Social Justice Mage, than Warrior? Do you ever feel like it's all just too damn much? Well have we got stories for you! Come watch as Mr. Moral gives you the tools you need to get through these dark times without losing it... hopefully.
El Bear is seeking the following actors for their production:
Casting:
-2 African-American women (any age) to play multiple roles in the show.
-1 latinx male (any age) to play multiple roles.
-1 white male actor (any age) to play multiple roles.
All Auditions will be held at Collaboraction Studios in the Flat Irons Art Building 1579 N. Milwaukee (Wicker Park).
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will start in May, and the schedule will be based upon actor availability.
Tech will take place the week of June 9th-15th
Performance dates are June 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th, and July 1st.
Performances will take place in The Salon at Collaboraction and Start at 7:30pm.
Material To Prepare:
Two contrasting monologues totaling no more than 3 minutes.
