Third Eye Theatre Ensemble announces auditions for Patience and Sarah, by Paula Kimper. There is pay in the form of a stipend. We do not provide housing. Seeking classically trained singers for the following roles:

Patience White (soprano) - Artist, sister to a middle class land owner. Falls in love with Sarah.

Sarah Dowling (mezzo-soprano) - Tough minded daughter of a poor farmer. Falls in love with Patience. Leaves home and goes out on her own dressed as a boy (Sam).

Rachel Dowling (soprano) - Sarah's younger sister

Ma Dowling (mezzo-soprano) - Sarah's mother

Martha White (contralto) - Patience's sister-in-law

Edward White (tenor) - Patience's brother

Parson Daniel Peel (tenor) - Book peddler. Meets Sarah (as Sam) and travels with her; falls in love.

Pa Dowling (bass) - Sarah's father

We will be casting doubles or covers for each role. We will also be casting for our summer concert, "Women of the Now," featuring music by contemporary female composers.

Third Eye Theatre Ensemble is dedicated to diverse hiring and casting methods.

Auditions will take place on 4/21 and 4/22 in Park Ridge, IL. Location is within walking distance of the UPNW Metra line, and a short ride from the Cumberland Blue Line stop

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin in mid-August. Production dates are scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10/5 through 10/21..

Material To Prepare:
Please prepare 1 contemporary aria/art song (Britten/Menotti or later) in English and bring a second contrasting aria in any language. At least one selection must be an aria.
