Towle Theater seeks strong male & female actors/singers all ages for its upcoming musical Fun Home by Lisa Kron, Jeanine Tesori & Alison Bechdel. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to audition. Performance Dates are July 14-15, 19-22, 26-29, 2018. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Towle Theater in Hammond, IN.

Audition Location:
Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL 60657. South side of Belmont, between Lakewood and Racine. Located just a few blocks west of the Belmont Red/Brown/Purple stop also accessible via the #77 Belmont bus.

Alison: Female, 35+; a 43 year old cartoonist , Lesbian and daughter of Bruce and Helen; mezzo

Medium Alison: Female, 17+; Alison at 19, Oberlin College freshman, comes out while in college; mezzo

Bruce Bechdel: Male, 35+; Alison's father, High School teacher, owns the Bechdel Funeral Home, closeted gay; baritone.

Helen Bechdel: Female, 35+; Alison's mother, English teacher and married to Bruce ; mezzo

Joan: Female, 18+; a college student at Oberlin College, Allison's first lesbian encounter; mezzo

Roy/Mark/Pete/Jeremy/Bobby: Male, 18+; plays Roy, a young man Bruce hires to do yard work; Mark, a high school junior; Pete, a mourner; Jeremy/Bobby, other supporting male characters; tenor

Small Allison: Female, 9-15; Alison at 10 years old. Strong vocals and acting ability required.

Christian: Male, 6-12; Allison's brother. Minimal vocals, strong acting ability required.

John: Male, 6-12; Allison's brother. Minimal vocals, strong acting ability required.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals will begin after early to mid-May.
Performances are July 14-15, 19-22, 26-29, 2018.

Material To Prepare:
Please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary Broadway Song. Have a contrasting piece ready if asked. Song should not be from the show. Sheet music in the correct key. No acapella or taped accompaniment. You may be asked to sing from the score.
