Monster in the Hall is the sweet, silly, musical story of 16-year old Duck Macatarsney whose mother died in a motorcycle accident and whose father is suffering form the effects of MS. The day the social worker comes to check in with them is also the day her dad wakes up blind, her friend Lawrence needs some help, and a strange Norwegian woman shows up on their door. With nothing but her wits, a vivid imagination, and the support of singing sensations The Marvelous Duckettes, Duck has t fix all these problems, all at once!

This is an ensemble production where actors play many parts. Roles are open to actors of all ethnicities and will involve narration and playing other parts above and beyond the primary role.

This is a play with music. We are looking for actors who can also play instruments.

Ensemble 1 – Female/late teens: a sincere young woman with a complicated inner life and a penchant for writing fantasy novels

Ensemble 2 – Male/late teens or early twenties: a sweet young man with a love of good fashion and who cares maybe too much about what his peers think

Ensemble 3 – Female/late 20s or 30s: both a thorough and caring social worker and a Norwegian heavy metal singer.

Ensemble 4 – Male/40s or early 50s. Former a loving father and Hell’s Angel who has fallen on tough times
