Seeking actors of all races, genders, and identities. We are particularly looking for actors over the age of 30. Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" is a raunchy country club world of scotch and wine at 5 o'clock, beers on the golf course, mischief, seduction, gossip and fun. All of these characters know what it is like to play a good joke, drink a little too much and try to get the best of each other. Have fun....but watch your back! Our cut is 90-minutes long, has a newly illuminated storyline for all roles, and is performed outdoors at Ridgeville Park in Evanston as part of "Shakespeare on the Ridge"! The production will be directed by Mark Boergers (Artistic Director). Roles are as follows:

FALSTAFF: A celebrity in town, like an old football star who made enough money 15 years ago to last a lifetime. Generally good natured, fun and loveable, but also overly confident and over-sexed. He is quite charming and good with his words- and those two things usually work...

MISTRESS FORD: Intellectual, conniving, cunning and sharp as a tack. She is dark and mysterious in her seductions and biting in her jokes. She is the lawyer-turned-housewife.

MISTRESS PAGE: Fun, bubbly, smart and pretty- she was the head cheerleader at school but also a straight A student. She knows all the different ways to get what she wants, even if the tactic is just a well-placed smile.

MASTER FORD: Highly successful business man, competitive and charming. He is the country club racquet ball champion who plays to win but buys everyone drinks afterwards.

MASTER PAGE: Family money, but generous with his wealth. Lives a life of leisure but has wisdom in his own way. He plays golf for fun and has scotch on the course. He and Mistress Page throw all the best parties and invite the whole town.

SLENDER: Highly intelligent but terrible at dating. He knows that his birthright is to be the king of the town and he really wishes he could achieve that, but deep down he'd rather play a quiet game of chess if he had his choice.

SHALLOW: Scrappy, driven businessman who is self-made and street smart. He earned his way into the country club and is damn proud of it. He knows the smart thing to do is get Slender married to the best girl in town- it will help everyone's stock if he does.

DR. CAIUS: An arrogant, French, extremely talented Doctor. He is beyond confident in his lifestyle and enjoys only the best red wine. Hard to love and a bit eccentric, but if you are sick you want to go to Dr. Caius.

HOST: Owner of the best bar in town, the Host has seen it all. Can play both sides of the gender paradigm to form comradery and can tap into the debaucheries and desires of everyone who enters the door of the Garter Inn. Generally agreeable, but with a dark side that comes out when provoked.

ANNE PAGE: Generally sweet, smart, sexy and beautiful all at once. Confident and calm, she will be heading off to Yale in the fall. She is the most popular girl in town because she is just like her mother.

FENTON: Captain of the football team, straight A student and as charming as he is handsome. Happens to be from a family that the Pages hate, but he can't help but love Anne and won't take 'no' for an answer. Feels he is involved in love's noble pursuit.
