Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon's hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.
We are seeking performers and understudies for the following roles:
-OLIVE MADISON: (25-45) Television Producer-wise cracking - complete slob- loves sports- Good comic timing.
-FLORENCE UNGER: (25-45) Well Groomed - Loves to clean and cook- Well meaning but a nag - Takes things very seriously.
-SYLVIE: (25-45) Trying to stop smoking - Gets irritated easily - Good sense of humor.
-RENEE: (25 -45 ) Sylvie best friend- Quick wit - Points out all Olive's and Flo's flaws - Somewhat sarcastic.
-VERA: (25-45) Sweet - Spacey - Always two steps behind friends- Good comic timing.
-MICKY: (25-45) Police Officer - Most understanding - Tries to control the situation but sometimes gets unnerved.
-MONOLO CONSTAZUELA: (25-45) Needs to be able to do a Spanish Accent - Thinks he is quite smooth- Likes Olive- Good comic timing.
-JESUS CONSTAZUELA: (25-45) Manolo's younger brother- Romantic gets very emotional - Likes Florence - Good comic timing - Must have Spanish Accent
The production contains no sexual content, nudity or violence. We will work with actors on costumes. Anything actors choose to provide that fit with the overall costume design concept are welcomed. The theater will supply any additional wardrobe. Actors are invited to assist with strike, but it is not required.
Pay: $1,000 to be paid at the conclusion of the run and $500 for understudies
This production will run June 14 to July 29, 2018 with performances Thursday through Sunday. Rehearsals will be starting in mid April.
Material To Prepare:
For the audition, please have a 90 second comedic or dramatic monologue prepared. We may ask for a second monologue, so have a contrasting one ready just in case.
