Synopsis: Nina, a 16-year-old high school girl from Texas, prepares for her Iranian grandmother’s visit. Things take a turn when Donald Trump is elected President and threatens to enforce a ban on Muslim immigrants.

Character Breakdowns:
NINA- Female (14-20) Persian/Middle Eastern/Ethnically Ambiguous
Nina is a young Persian girl who grew up in Texas. She wants to blend in and be like her friend Ashley, but over the course of the story she gets more into her Persian culture while also coming to terms with heartbreaking realities.

REZA- Male (40-50) Persian/Middle Eastern/Ethnically Ambiguous
Reza is Nina’s father. He tries to get Nina involved in her Persian culture and is disappointed when she doesn’t take interest. He tries to keep Nina strong through the difficulties they face, but eventually shows his vulnerability. *This character speaks Farsi*

ASHLEY- Female (14-20) Caucasian
Ashley is your typical All-American teenage girl. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed and preppy, she tries to understand Nina’s struggles but just can’t seem to relate.

MAMAN BAZORG- Female (65+) Persian/Middle Eastern/Ethnically Ambiguous
This role is voice only. This is Nina’s grandmother who lives in Iran. *This character speaks Farsi*

ASHLEY’S DAD- Male (40-50) Caucasian
Non-speaking role.
