Description
In 1977, 19-year-old TK is arrested, and held in solitary confinement for involvement in the Soweto riots. She sits in a cell with a small metal frame cot, a metal bucket and a light bulb named Alfred. Thandeka is TK's other self. Full of life, passion and laughter. She keeps alive the memories TK needs to nourish her soul while they negotiate the reality of being in solitary confinement.
Need 2 strong African American or African female actors, under 35 years of age.
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals: evenings 1/28-29.
Tech 1/30
Performance 1/31 at 7pm.
Video Submissions preferred: One 90 second dramatic monologue. Dialect welcome but not require.
