Description:

Facility Theatre is holding auditions for its 2018 production The Little Match Girl Passion, which imagines a spatial, temporal, and visual hybridization of David Lang's 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning work. This work will immerse audiences visually and aurally into a multi-platformed synthesis. The work is scored for SATB, and the company is seeking one or more vocalists for each voice. Along with performing the vocal score, performers of the work will also execute a number of choreographed movements. Please note that specialized training in movement or dance is not required.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin: March 2nd Rehearsals will be at Holy Trinity Church in Noble Square. Performance Dates: April 13, 14, 15 April 20, 21, 22 April 27, 28, 29. Please note that some conflicts with performance dates may not disqualify you from participation in the project.

Material To Prepare:
Auditioning vocalists should be prepared to perform the following portions of the piece. Mvt. 1: mm. 1-33 In this movement, vocalists should be prepared to execute the bass drum part in the manner described below: Soprano - any bass drum strike occurring on beat one of a measure Alto - any bass drum strike occurring on beat two of a measure Tenor - any bass drum strike occurring on beat three of a measure Bass - any bass drum strike occurring on beat four of a measure Mvt. 4: all Vocalists will be asked to execute movements prescribed by the director Mvt. 5: all Mvt. 9: mm. 1-24 Mvt. 13: mm. 1-12.
