Description:

The Miracle Center provides a unique opportunity for Chicago teens. Unlike other educational/training programs where teen actors have to pay to participate, The Miracle Center partners with After School Matters and treats this as a professional opportunity. The teens who perform in Shrek the Musical will receive a stipend rivaling many Chicago theatre companies. In order to audition, you need to be a Chicago resident and must be a high school student starting in the fall of 2017. We are seeking both a theatre ensemble to fill the roles of the show as well as a dance ensemble.

Audition Dates:
Tuesday, January 16th
Wednesday, January 17th
Thursday, January 18th
Tuesday, January 23rd
Wednesday, January 24th
Thursday, January 25th
4pm-6pm with a dance call at 6pm

Time Commitment:
Parent/Student Orientation: Tuesday, February 6th
Rehearsals: February 13th - April 5th Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Tech: Monday, April 30th - Thursday, May 3rd 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Pickup Rehearsals: Thursday, May 10th 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Production Dates: Friday, May 4th; Saturday, May 5th; Friday Dec. 15th, and Saturday Dec. 16th
Strike: Tuesday, May 15th 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Material To Prepare:
One 32 bar cut of a song from a contemporary musical to fit the style of the show. Preferably a comedic song.
