Description:
Eclectic Full Contact Theatre is excited to be gearing up for the second production of our 2017/18 Season, William Shakespeare's As You Like It. A comedic romp through the trials and tribulations of four sets of lovers, this production will be taking a bit of a turn under the direction of Artistic Director Katherine Siegel focusing specifically on the gender roles that society dictates to us and the freedom to be found when we're out in the "forest".
Rehearsals will begin early February. The show begins previews on March 23rd, opens on March 26th, and closes on April 22nd. Rehearsals will be structured around actor availability and a stipend will be provided.
Who We're Looking to Cast:
ORLANDO DE BOYS - African American female identifying 20s to mid-30s. The youngest child of the deceased Sir Rowland de Boys. She is cheerful, good-natured, and a little naive though she chafes under the harsh treatment she receives from her brother, Oliver. Everything changes when she falls for the dry-humored and soon to be banished niece of Duke Fredrick, Rosalind.
Auditions will be held Sunday, January 14th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Theatre Momentum's Pendulum Space, 1803 W Byron St #216, Chicago, IL 60613.
