Description:

Delaware Shakespeare is accepting headshots and resumes for non-union actors for its 2018 season, including the Summer Festival production of Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Bi Jean Ngo, and the fall Community Tour production of The Merchant of Venice, directed by David Stradley. Female performers will be considered for some traditionally male roles. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend, as well as actors who play musical instruments.

Monologue auditions: Saturday, January 6 from 10am-6pm, downtown Wilmington, DE. Auditions by appointment only. Initial casting focus is on Much Ado About Nothing. Rehearsals for Much Ado begin June 12 and will be held on weeknights/weekend days. Production runs July 13-29 on the grounds of Rockwood Park in Wilmington, DE.

All roles for Much Ado paid at level slightly higher than Barrymore-minimum weekly fee. The roles of Beatrice and Benedick will be cast prior to these auditions.

The Merchant of Venice schedule is still being finalized, but will most likely begin rehearsals on September 25 with a run of October 24-November 18.

Monologue auditions will also be used for casting considerations for Del Shakes’ smaller-scale programming, including seasonal Halloween and Valentine's reading events.

Please note: Del Shakes does not provide artist housing. No phone calls please. College students may audition/interview for Summer Festival Apprentice positions at a later date.
