Chicago Children's Theatre seeks the following for our world premiere musical adaptation of The Last Stop on Market Street, adapted by Cheryl L. West and directed by Henry Godinez:
CJ -- seeking performers of all genders, age 7 to late teens/early 20s, to play a 7 year old African American boy. Must sing well, have good use of language, strong emotional range. noneq.
Jojo -- seeking young women, African American or Latinx, for a multi-part track that includes playing an 8 year boy. Must sing and play at least one instrument. noneq.
Posey/Butterfly -- seeking African American women who can play a range of ages, must sing and play at least one instrument. This role will also cover the track of NANA. noneq.
Bus Driver/DJ -- seeking a man of color to play a multi-part track. Must have great wit and great DJ skills. AEA.
Auditions will be held at Chicago Children's Theatre's offices at 100 S Racine
Time Commitment:
Rehearsals start 3/27 Tech 4/19-4/22
Previews 4/24 - 4/27
Open 4/28 8 week run, closing 6/17
