Synopsis: William Miller, a naïve, young rock and roll fan in the early 1970s, is hired by Rolling Stone magazine to go on tour with an up-and-coming band to write an article about them. During the tour, a band groupie who goes by the name Penny Lane takes William under her wing. Penny Lane is a wild and carefree spirit carrying on a passionate love affair with the lead guitarist. Personalities clash and tensions run high as the tour progresses and William struggles to complete his story while losing his innocence.
