Description:
Synopsis: There are only two realms in which rules are broken – art and war.
This film explores the deontological ethics of war through the deep contrast of the utopian life of a painter and the chaotic life of a battle-bruised soldier. And while the audience thinks they understand the identities of these disparate characters, their molds quickly morph as the story progresses.

He is a field captain who is in the heat of battle while trying to patch up his comrade, Soldier II. He is dirty, sweaty, and bloody with bombs going off all around him – for him it is a surreal experience. |
Soldier 2 | Male | Any Ethnicity | 25-30 | (male, age range 20-35) – A first lieutenant who is fatally injured from a nearby bomb blast. He is covered in blood and is being treated behind cover by Soldier I in the midst of enemy fire. He goes in and out of consciousness and eventually dies from blood loss at the end of the film. |
Painter | Male | Any Ethnicity | Any Age | A calm, elegant man with a keen eye for political art. His personality at first displays pro-war attitudes expressed through his painting and the radio commentary he listens to, however the tone soon changes as the story progresses. Actor for this role must be okay with smoking a cigar. This role does not necessarily require any painting skills, however please mention if you do in your submission. |
