Description:
Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles,IL is seeking actor submissions for its premiere production of 99TH & NOWHERE, an original play by Gary McGowan and directed by Annie Slivinski.
Synopsis:
Peter's dad died an early and mysterious death. Now Peter worries he is not far behind. Cousin Willow is a holistic healer struggling to heal herself. Add to the mix, a clueless brother, his demanding fiance, powerful crystals, a raging tornado, and a fuzzy dog costume and you have the stuff of dark comedy-four lost souls fumbling to find respite, let alone, happiness at 99TH & NOWHERE!
Roles:
Peter: 35-45; male-identifying; Derek's half brother; bright but neurotic and nerdy, but despite various fears and yearnings, he has adapted to a life he's comfortable with.
Derek: 25-35; male-identifying; Peter's half brother; has relied on his good looks and personality but now has urgency to find solid footing and a gratifying future.
Helena: 25-35; female-identifying; Peter's fiance; slight Polish dialect; funny, likeable but cocky and demanding with strong opinions.
Willow: 35-45; female-identifying; Peter's cousin; a holistic healer and free spirit.
Audition dates:
Sunday, January 19: 7:00 - 9:00PM & Tuesday, January 21: 7:00 - 9:00PM
Rehearsal Schedule: March 4 - April 5, 2025 (2-3 weeknights and 1 (longer) weekend day rehearsal to be determined by availability)
Tech: April 6 - April 10, 2025
Performances: April 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 2025. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30PM and Sunday performances are at 2:00PM.
Performances will take place at Steel Beam Theatre, 111 W. Main St., St. Charles, IL 60174. Some rehearsals will take place at a rehearsal space also in St. Charles.
There is no pay for this production but actors will receive comps and the exciting opportunity to work on a world premiere play!
