Great Lakes Operetta is pleased to announce auditions for its Spring Concert, Operetta Around the World.
The third event of Great Lakes Operetta's inaugural, fundraising season, the Spring Concert will feature both beloved hits and lesser-known gems from the operetta and light opera repertoire of many nations, sung in their original languages. The approximately 90-minute program (plus intermission) will be accompanied by piano. Singers may be involved in one or more solos, duets, trios, quartets, and/or ensemble numbers. The Creative Team includes Lindsey Baer (Music Director), SarahAnn Sutter (Stage Director/Producer), and Kristin Weed (Producer). There is no pay or housing provided. There will be two performances: Saturday, March 15th, 2025 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m., at Irving Park Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois.
There will be six rehearsals prior to the performance dates. Not all singers will be called to all rehearsals. Rehearsals will be held primarily at the Park Plaza Retirement Center in Chicago, IL.

We recommend songs from the Operetta, Light/Comic Opera (including Gilbert & Sullivan), Golden Age Musical Theatre, or Opera genres. Your chosen song may be sung in any language. The Application Form will be open until Monday, January 6th, 11:59pm CST.
