Eclectic Full Contact Theatre is now accepting submissions for its 2nd Annual Crashbox festival of Short Live Audio Plays, celebrating the art of Live Foley! The Crashbox Festival features six short plays performed as a live radio performance with live musician and all sound effects provided live by talented Chicago Foley artists. This year's genre is Fantasy

The Crashbox Festival will take place Dec 5th-15th at the Edge off Broadway Theatre 1133 W Catalpa. Performances are Th-Sat at 7:30 and Sun at 3:00.

Rehearsals will be 10/28-11/21 M, W, and Th from 7-10:30 at the Broadway United Methodist Church, 3338 N Broadway. Each script will rehearse one day a week for four weeks. There will be no rehearsal the week of Thanksgiving. Tech will be 12/2-12/4 at The Edge Off Broadway, from 7-11 each night.

Auditions will be held October 4th from 6-10 and October 5th from 12:30-6:30 at The Broadway United Methodist Church. Auditions will consist of sides from the chosen scripts. There will be a reader provided. All auditions will be recorded so any of the six directors unable to attend any individual night of auditions can access the auditions of those who appear in person.

Presently, there is no pay for this festival.

Crashbox is a celebration of live audio performance. As such, the focus is on the vocal performance more than the physical. EFCT is dedicated to producing shows that reflect the wide diversity of the Chicago theatre community. Characters in the chosen scripts for this year include monsters under the bed, a demon, fae, ghosts, a book bent on world domination, a golem, among others. There are no preconceived notions as to who can portray the characters, and as such EFCT encourages actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, abilities, body types, etc to submit.
