Description:

Casting select roles for 'Along the Banks'. A new, romantic comedy short film, shooting this October in Chicago. Actors of color are especially encouraged to apply, but all will be considered.

SHOW SYNOPSIS:
A comfortable, witty homebody and a traditional celtic singer, who wears his heart on his sleeve, connect over a fleeting weekend in Chicago. Live music provides the soundtrack as they are made to wonder: is it worth risking the life you have for a shot at something special?

WHO ARE WE?
The creative team consists of screenwriter and Chicago writer/actor/producer, Connor O. Locklin, along with director and writer/comedian, Brigid Reilly. Music direction by the talented Tristan Huygen, who plays and tours with Elizabeth Moen and Toadvine.

WHAT'S THE VISION FOR THE FILM?
We plan to submit to a variety of festivals, and eventually upload the film online. Our previous work includes the ensemble comedy 'The Ill-Conceived, Poorly Executed Housewarming Party of Amy & Jaime' (nominated for 'Best Comedy' at Indie Short Fest and 'Best Short Film' in the commedyscene.org Community Choice Awards).

STIPEND: $150, all roles

SEEKING SUBMISSIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
JILL: 20's F, [Lead] A quick-witted tech worker living a comfortable, but unexciting life. Unafraid to be goofy, afraid to be vulnerable.

Please note that role requires a few instances of stage kissing.

MICHELLE:[supporting] late 20's F, Jill's roommate- encouraging, comforting, and confident. Strong comedic timing.

CILLIAN: [Supporting] 20's MUST play a traditional Irish melody instrument (Fiddle, Flute, Uilleann pipes, Whistle, Bouzouki, Button Accordion) with a high level of proficiency. Loveable asshole.
