Description:
We Should Kill Him is a new original play by Deana Velandra getting a world premiere production at Cornservatory this fall. With a tone not unlike that of John Tucker Must Die and Bad Sisters, this play is a buddy comedy turned murder mystery. Corn Productions is seeking actors who are excited to work on a new play and originate a role!
CHARACTERS:
CANDACE (woman, 20s-30s), a romantic
CHRIS (man 20s-30s) a stand-up comedian
ELLIE (woman, 20s-30s), Candace's best friend, optimistic, supportive
JEN (woman, 20s-30s), Ellie's older sister, "the cool one," jaded
TESS (woman, 20s-30s), Jen's best friend, laid back, sweet
BARTENDER/COP (man, 20s-40s) a real chip on his shoulder
Directed by Martina Logan, We Should Kill Him will run Thursday-Saturday nights at 7:30 from September 5- September 28. The first rehearsal will take place on August 1.
We Should Kill Him contains a few moments of intimacy and violence for which actors will work with an intimacy/violence choreographer. This play contains mention of some adult themes such as drug use, suicide, and murder. Please note that Corn Productions will also be seeking understudies for this production, and understudies will have one guaranteed performance, to be determined based on actor availability.
Auditions will take place at Cornservatory (4210 N Lincoln Ave) on Saturday, July 27 from 2 PM- 5 PM.
Callbacks will take place at Cornservatory on July 28 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Callbacks will consist of sides from the script.
Pay: stipend of $100 for main cast and a stipend of $50 for understudies
