Description:
Edge of the Wood Theatre, 6736 N Loleta Avenue, Chicago is seeking a STAGE MANAGER for its November Resident Theatre production of The Language Archive by Julia Cho. Performances run November 8-23 in the theatre space on the lower level of the Edgebrook Community Church, on the far northwest side of Chicago. This production will be eligible for Non-Equity Jeff Award consideration.
Responsibilities:
Production Coordination:
Collaborate with directors, designers, and technical teams to plan and execute the production schedule.
Manage and oversee all aspects of rehearsals, ensuring adherence to the production timeline.
Communication and Organization:
Facilitate effective communication among cast and crew members. Maintain accurate and organized production documentation, including rehearsal schedules, production notes, and rehearsal reports for each rehearsal.
Rehearsal and Performance Support:
Attend all rehearsals and performances, taking note of blocking, cues, and any necessary adjustments.
Run lights and sound during performances.
Coordinate backstage activities during performances, including scene changes, prop management, and actor entrances/exits.
Ensure the safety and well-being of cast and crew members during rehearsals and performances.
First rehearsal is Monday, September 23. Rehearsals are Monday-Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Tech week begins Saturday, November 2. Ten performances run November 8-23.
Pay: $800 stipend
