Description:
The Underground is a two-part play about a group of musicians who start a music school in an attempt to revive their dying artform. In spite of constant threats to stop from government agents, they remain determined to succeed. This is a show about the potential and the value of art made by people, and the risks of living in a world that exists without it. Role:
After a successful concert production at The Mercury Theatre's Venus Cabaret Theater and reading at Redtwist Theatre in 2023, we are looking for an actor to complete our team for a fully staged production this August
Tandrin (She/Her) - Black/BIPOC, a strong-willed songwriter, willing to risk it all in order to revive her dying artform. She is talented and crafty with her words and methods. She is quick on her feet, and able to respond in the moment or adjust plans with grace. Alto/Mezzo singing role.
Pay Rate:
This is a non-equity project. Standard working rate on this show will be $25/hr. Hours accrued weekly from rehearsals/performances and paid out for the previous week on Fridays.
Schedule:
Greenhouse Theatre Center -
Rehearsals: August 19th - August 24th. 6pm-10pm on weekdays, 12pm-10pm on weekends
Tech: August 25th - August 28th. 6pm-11pm each eveningv` Performances: August 29th - August 31st at 7:30pm, September 1st at 2:30pm. Actors will be called one hour before the performance.
