Deerfield TYA is proud to announce auditions for our summer 2024 TYA production of Me...Jane. Auditions are open to adults 18+. They will be held at Jewett Park Community Center, 836 Jewett Park Dr., Deerfield, IL on Thursday, May 9th from 6:30-9pm, Saturday, May 11th from 4-6pm, and Sunday, May 12th from 1-3pm. Callbacks will be by invitation on Sunday, May 12th from 3-5pm.
Synopsis: Before she became the renowned humanitarian, conservationist, and animal activist, Dr. Jane Goodall was a little girl with a stuffed toy chimpanzee named Jubilee. Me...Jane is the true story of young Goodall who, accompanied by Jubilee, went on outdoor expeditions and observed the miracles of nature. As result of her adventures, Jane dreams of spending the rest of her life helping and learning from animals. By believing in herself, living her dreams, and knowing that she can make a difference, Jane grows up to do just that.
Performance dates are August 1st at 6pm, August 2nd at 10:30am and 6pm, August 3rd at 10:30am and 2pm, and August 4th at 10:30am in our newly renovated theater space at Caruso Auditorium in Deerfield.
Please prepare a one minute comedic monologue, and a 16 bar cut of a song in the style of the show (Disney/Nickelodeon/Theater for Young Audiences). Bring sheet music (marked with beginning and end) in the key of your choice. An accompanist will be provided. Dance auditions will take place at callbacks only.

Our audition packet is available to download from the Deerfield Family Theater website: www.deerfieldfamilytheater.com/DTYA. Please print the forms (single-sided), fill out completely, and bring them with you to your audition, along with a headshot and resume (if you have one).
*Note* We are accepting video auditions! If you cannot make it to any of the audition dates, you may submit a video audition. Please send your video (along with your completed audition packet) to laney@deerfieldparks.org by May 9th.
