SMC (Shakespeare's Motley Crew) is requesting audition submissions for our 12th year of Midsummer Mayhem.
MM is a short series of Shakespeare scenes highlighting a central theme (this year "Devils") performed in parks around the north side, free to the audience. MM is an ensemble piece with lots of fights, music and movement. As we aren't restricted by full scripts, we're pretty unconventional in our casting. We assign parts after first read.
We are seeking all ages and types. SMC offers a stipend.
Performances are Saturday and Sundays from July 27 to August 31 in Independence, Winnemac and Grosse Parks. Additionally, we will have 2 performances (daytime) in schools September / October (dates TBD). Rehearsals begin in early June.

If interested, please submit one Shakespeare monologue of your choice by 4/19 (and if so inclined, let us know something you might have to say about devils.
