Now entering its twelfth season presenting outdoor Shakespeare in partnership with Chicago Park District, Midsommer Flight is accepting non-union actor submissions for its upcoming outdoor summer production of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, directed by Producing Artistic Director Beth Wolf. Spend your summer outdoors and be a part of "Chicago summer entertainment at its finest" (Chicago Stage Standard).
As Midsommer Flight performs in diverse communities, we would like our cast to mirror the beauty of the neighborhoods in which we perform. Therefore, we encourage actors of all backgrounds to audition and are seeking an inclusive cast featuring all body types, abilities, gender identities, and ethnicities. We are especially looking for performers who sing and/or play instruments.
We are looking to cast 14 principal actors and 5 swing/understudy actors.

Rehearsal Run: May 13-June 25 on Monday - Thursday evenings and Saturdays during the day. (NO rehearsal May 27 for Memorial Day)
Dress Rehearsals: Wednesday, June 26th at 12-5pm and Thursday June 27th at 12-5pm
Performances: June 28 - August 4, 2024 on Fridays & Saturdays at 6:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00PM in various parks around the city of Chicago.
Pick Up Rehearsals: 2-3 understudy put-ins and/or pick-up rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the run as we transition to new parks. Exact dates are TBD but will be communicated on the production calendar.
