Description:

Stage manager needed for the Midwest Players' April production (done in co-operation with the 2nd Act Players) of "Grand Family Foods," show dates April 20-21, April 27-28, Saturday shows start at 7:30, Sundays at 3.

Stage manager would be needed at all rehearsals starting Feb. 15. Rehearsals will usually be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evening each week, 7-10 p.m..

Theater is at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2515 Central Park Avenue, Evanston, candidate must have own transportation, public transit is not a reliable option to our location.

Duties include but may not be limited to:

- Attend all rehearsals and production meetings.

- Communicate with the cast any relevant information or changes; the rehearsal schedule and location, their call time, etc.

- Schedule production meetings with the director and producer

- Set up the rehearsal space with the required furniture or props prior to rehearsal, restore the space after rehearsal.

- During rehearsals, carefully note the blocking that the director has set, to ensure the actors know it.

- Oversee safety at rehearsals. Monitor any choreographed moments of violence and check in with actors to ensure they feel comfortable and safe.

- When the actors are off-book, instruct them to call for a line, and be prepared to give them their line. Note lines missed at each rehearsal in line reports to actors.

- For the performance, set up all props/furniture, prepare the space for audience members' arrival, cue the actors to begin, and run the sound and light boards.

- Overall, and most importantly, support the director, the actors, and the production by keeping the lines of communication open and being adaptable and positive
