Description:
This short will be filmed with an Arri Alexa by the senior-level workshop students of North Lake college under the supervision of June Owens.
Synopsis: A successful Nigerian man who is living the American dream but his young bride is victim of abuse and control longing for her freedom. (based on true events)
Roles Available:
1. Harrison - Successful Nigerian man, age 35-45. Very assertive, abusive toward his purchased wife.
2. Jane - Nigerian woman, age 25-30. Submissive, very isolated from the world. Almost a slave to Harrison.
3. Lillian - Educated American, age 25-30. Friends with Jane. Very concerned for Jane, thinks she should go to the police. Doesn’t need to have an accent.
4. Cynthia - Independent African-American, age 25-30. Friends with Jane. Thinks that all women should be independent and that men are unnecessary. Sassy. Doesn’t need to have an accent.
Auditions will be held Monday, April 14, 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
