Description:
Chicspeare Production Company, a theater based in Chicago specializing in Shakespeare, is seeking Romeos and Juliets for its program on Romeo and Juliet which tours area schools. Programs are booked primarily by high school English departments when students are reading the plays; the focus is on demonstrating how to make sense of the language by drawing on students' own sense of sight, sound, and imagination.
Casting: Non-equity actors who can play 14-16 years old in front of 14-16 year olds. We perform for diverse audiences, and cast to make sure we are reflecting them. No classical experience necessary.
Pay: $90-135, depending on the number of presentations per booking. Transportation is provided.
8 rehearsals in early January. Daytime bookings on an occasional basis between late January and June, 2024.
